What happens

The clarity lunch picks up with Whitney gone, having taken herself off for a timeout, so Lisa turns on Angie instead. She hasn’t forgotten the Jen Shah comparison from the RV park, and she starts questioning how many salons Angie actually owns (Reality Tea). By BuddyTV’s account, Lisa claims Angie controls only one and a half Lunatic Fringe locations. In a confessional, Angie says she’s worked out Lisa’s tactic: deflect by making someone else the target.

Then Angie fires back across the table: “You do French fries; I do franchise.” Mary doesn’t get it until Heather explains, and then she’s delighted. Angie goes further. She says she invested in Fresh Wolf, the grooming line Lisa runs with her sons, and stocked it in her salons even though, in her view, it belongs on a discount shelf. Lisa says in a confessional that dragging her kids’ brand into it is a point of no return.

Heather steps in to sum it up. She tells Lisa she’s fearless when she’s on someone’s side and exposed when she’s against them. Lisa admits she feels vulnerable too, and the women ask why she never shows it. According to TV Grapevine, she gets emotional. She goes round the table telling Angie, Heather and Bronwyn how she feels about each of them, then closes with a toast to her friends. Nothing is really settled.

Mary lunches with Heather and says tequila has a hospital taste, a callback longtime viewers will recognize. Whitney, meanwhile, dusts off her old stripper pole.

Bronwyn parks badly and walks into Lisa’s Premiere lounge for a one-on-one. She’s still carrying Lisa’s comments about her family from the Season 5 reunion, and she calls their feud a race to the bottom. They agree they’ve both said things they need to own. Lisa says she didn’t like Bronwyn’s remarks about John. Bronwyn answers that suggesting John might be stressed isn’t comparable to the sexual insult Lisa hurled at her at Amy’s party, and Lisa concedes she doesn’t actually think that about her. They apologize and agree that husbands and children are off limits.

Mary tours her renovated church with her cousin, Big Joe, and gives her account of a family rift. She says her grandmother told both Mary and Mary’s mother that Mary would lead the church, but after her grandmother died, her mother tried to take control. Mary says her mother stopped speaking to her, and that she gave her mother the distance she wanted. When her mother died, Mary tells Joe, it felt like a closed chapter.

Angie, whose cosmetology license has lapsed, practices a perm on Heather and fills her in. Lisa’s assistant has collected the unsold Fresh Wolf stock from Angie’s salon. Lisa has sent Angie $600, with a text offering her cleaners because the salon is so dusty. Angie replies that Lisa should send money to the people who say she owes them. Lisa answers with a jab about Angie borrowing money for vacations. Neither accusation is substantiated on screen. Heather, who thought the two had made up, is baffled.

Bronwyn’s mother objects to Gwen’s boyfriend living in the house and predicts Gwen will become a young mother like Bronwyn. In a confessional, Bronwyn says her mother’s judgment brings back the shame she felt when she got pregnant in college. She doesn’t fit her mother’s picture of a perfect Mormon family, she says, and her mother still sees herself as the one most hurt back then. Separately, per Wikipedia’s synopsis, Britani tells Whitney how her relationship with Jared has affected things with her estranged daughter. Whitney urges her to put her daughter first.

The episode ends with Angie and Meredith meeting over iced tea and matcha. Angie claims that when she and Meredith were feuding, Lisa encouraged her to dig up information about Meredith’s relatives to intimidate her. Meredith is skeptical, given who’s telling her, and says she’ll raise it with Lisa. Angie says she’s fine with that and insists those were Lisa’s own words. Lisa isn’t present, and she doesn’t respond to the claim in this episode.

How it originated

The salon-versus-shampoo fight grows straight out of last week’s lunch, which was meant to put the lawsuit talk to rest. Both businesses predate the season. Angie runs Lunatic Fringe salons; the extent of her ownership is what Lisa disputes on camera (Wikipedia). Fresh Wolf is a grooming line Lisa launched with her two sons, alongside Vida Tequila. Angie’s crack about people saying Lisa owes them money points back to the June 2024 Carlson suit, which alleged unrepaid loans and which Lisa denied.

Angie’s warning to Meredith rests on old history. The two clashed in Season 5, including over a podcast Angie’s husband appeared on, when Meredith threatened to air rumors about him (Ira Madison III). Angie is now asking a former opponent to trust her over Lisa, who has long been Meredith’s closest ally in the group.

The human interaction (Analysis)

Two reconciliations happen this week, and they go in opposite directions. Lisa and Bronwyn, the loudest enemies of the season so far, sit down privately and agree on rules: own what you’ve said, and leave families out of it. Lisa and Angie, who seemed to have patched things up, use money and text messages to reopen the wound. What separates them is setting. The truce happened face to face. The relapse happened by courier and phone, where a $600 transfer and a dusty-salon joke can say what neither woman would say across a table.

Heather’s diagnosis of Lisa is the sharpest line of the hour, mostly because Lisa accepts it. Saying you feel vulnerable is a strategic concession in this group, and Lisa offers it only after Angie has hit her family’s brand.

Angie’s visit to Meredith is a recruitment pitch. She’s offering information, not friendship, and Meredith’s caution suggests she knows it. Whether the claim is true can’t be judged from this episode. What can be judged is that Angie has picked the one person whose loyalty would cost Lisa most.

Bronwyn’s scenes with her mother keep reframing her. Inside the group she’s the aggressor. At home, she’s still waiting for approval she says she’ll never get.
