How enquiries, applications, subscriptions and technical information are handled.

This notice explains the information involved when you read the site, contact us, apply to contribute or subscribe to updates. It reflects the services currently available and will be revised as the organization develops.

Who to contact

Evolving Humanities is an independent media and cultural initiative working toward a formal nonprofit structure. Our existing organizational information identifies Remote and Holding, Estonia, as the current parent company and donation manager. A Great Archie is our current agency partner.

For a privacy question, access request or deletion request, email hello@evolvinghumanities.org with “Privacy” in the subject line. Our nonprofit information page explains the current arrangements. Further verified registration and contact details will be added as they are confirmed.

Information you choose to send

Contact forms collect your name, email address, message topic and the information you enter. Contributor and volunteer applications also ask about interests, experience, availability and, where relevant, a role or portfolio. Story submissions may include a draft, sources, a short biography and a supporting link. Partnership enquiries ask about the organization and the proposed collaboration.

These forms offer one optional PDF attachment, up to 5 MB. Please send only material you are entitled to share and remove information that is unnecessary for our review. Do not submit passwords, payment-card details, identity documents, medical records or confidential source material through these forms. They are ordinary website forms, not a secure whistleblowing channel.

How submissions are handled

Form text and the permission you give to review it are saved as private entries in WordPress and sent to hello@evolvinghumanities.org. Access to those entries is restricted to administrators. The form system records whether its mail notification was accepted by the mail server; acceptance does not prove that an email has reached an inbox.

PDFs are used as attachments for the email notification. The upload feature is designed to avoid creating a public media-library link and to remove its temporary server copy after the send attempt. An attachment may remain in the receiving mailbox and in the email provider’s normal backups. If notification fails, the saved text entry may remain even though the attachment could not be delivered.

We use your details to review the enquiry, assess an application or proposal and communicate with you. Sending a form does not sign you up to the newsletter, make your document public or grant a public byline. Relevant material may be discussed with the people responsible for reviewing the submission; access should be limited to what that work requires.

Newsletter choices

Newsletter signup asks for your email address and permission to receive the Monthly Review. MailPoet manages subscription status, confirmation and unsubscribe preferences. The Monthly Review brings together the previous calendar month’s articles in one email.

How to unsubscribe

You can stop receiving newsletter emails at any time:

  1. Open any Monthly Review email and select Unsubscribe in the footer.
  2. Confirm your choice on the page that opens. You do not need a website account or password.

Every Monthly Review also includes a Manage subscription link so you can review your subscription preferences. Once your unsubscribe is confirmed, your address is no longer eligible for future Monthly Review mailings. An email already handed to the mail service may still arrive.

If you cannot find an email or a link does not work, email us with “Unsubscribe” in the subject line, preferably from the address that receives the newsletter. We will help remove that address from the mailing list. Please do not send a password or identity document.

Unsubscribing changes your newsletter subscription status; it does not automatically delete earlier messages or application records. If you also want us to review or delete other information, contact us using the privacy details above.

We use newsletter consent separately from permission to review an application or respond to a message. Withdrawing newsletter consent does not require you to withdraw an unrelated enquiry.

Reader comments and accounts

Guests can submit a comment using a display name and email address. We email a verification link before the comment enters the editorial review queue. Unverified requests are held temporarily for up to one hour and expire if they are not confirmed. Confirmed comments remain private until an editor approves them.

Your display name, approved comment and posting date are public. Your email address is not displayed with your comment. WordPress keeps comment records, moderation status and technical information such as an IP address for administration and abuse prevention. Hidden form fields, signed form tickets, submission timing checks and rate limits help reduce automated submissions. These checks and email verification do not guarantee that every submission comes from a human, so editorial approval remains required.

A reader account is optional. Verify your email before an account is created, then choose a password. Accounts have the Subscriber role and do not grant access to editorial tools. Signing in lets you submit comments for review without verifying each comment separately. Account registration and commenting do not subscribe you to the newsletter.

Verification and account-security emails are separate from newsletter emails. To ask about your comment, change your display name or request account or comment deletion, contact hello@evolvinghumanities.org. Comments and account records are retained until reviewed or deleted rather than being automatically removed on a fixed schedule. Our general retention and request information below also applies.

Sharing buttons use the article’s public link. Social platforms receive information when you choose to open their sharing tools, subject to their own privacy policies. The buttons do not load embedded social-network tracking widgets on the article page.

Technical information and service providers

WordPress and our hosting, security and email services process technical information needed to operate the site, deliver communications and investigate problems. This can include an IP address, browser or device information, request times and server logs. The form handler uses a keyed hash of the requesting IP address for a submission limit; its rate-limit record expires after one hour.

Hostinger provides hosting infrastructure, and services supporting newsletter distribution, email delivery and website maintenance process information for their respective functions. A service provider may operate in another country. The applicable arrangements and safeguards depend on the provider and service; contact us if you need more information about a particular submission.

Language settings, embedded content and third-party features may use cookies, preference storage or network requests. An external link or embedded feature can disclose technical information to its provider. Those providers have their own privacy notices. We are continuing to document the site’s cookies and third-party services and do not claim that the site is free of all tracking.

Donations and public recognition

Donations are currently arranged through confirmed instructions from the team and managed by Remote and Holding. The site does not currently provide an online card checkout. Do not enter bank or payment-card details in a general contact form.

Information needed to arrange a contribution or maintain financial records may be retained for administration and applicable obligations. A contribution does not automatically authorize public naming as a donor or partner. We will discuss recognition and permission before publishing personal details.

Retention, requests and your choices

Private form entries and correspondence can remain in the administrative system and mailbox until they are reviewed and deleted. We are developing a documented retention schedule and do not currently promise an automatic deletion period. Copies may also remain in routine service backups for a provider’s normal backup cycle.

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or request deletion or a restriction on use. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may also have rights to object, receive a copy or portable version of information, withdraw consent or complain to a data-protection authority. We may need proportionate information to verify a request, and some records may need to be kept for legal obligations or an unresolved dispute.

We use information to respond to your request or take steps you have asked us to consider, and seek separate consent for newsletter marketing. Site operation and abuse prevention involve operational interests and obligations. The exact legal basis depends on the processing and applicable law; this notice is not a claim that consent is the only basis for every activity.

Security and changes to this notice

We use HTTPS and restrict administrative access to form entries. No website or ordinary email channel can guarantee absolute security. Please contact us if you believe information has been sent to us in error or an attachment contains details you did not intend to share.

The notice will be updated when services, organizational arrangements or verified information change. It was last updated on 19 October 2026. If a change materially affects a service you use, we will consider an appropriate way to bring it to your attention.
