Our team

The people and practical work behind Evolving Humanities.

Evolving Humanities is being built by a small, developing team, with volunteers contributing to the editorial work and the day-to-day running of the publication.

The work behind the pages

Publishing involves writing, but also time spent checking a source, editing a paragraph, organizing a submission or making a page easier to use. Our team brings those tasks together so that a story can move from an initial question to a piece readers can follow.

The current team is volunteer-led, with practical agency support from A Great Archie as the initiative develops. We are working toward a more independent organizational structure and will describe confirmed changes on our nonprofit information page.

Writers and people behind the scenes

Some team members contribute articles under their own names. Others work on research, editing, ghostwriting or support tasks without a public byline. We discuss each person鈥檚 role and credit, and we respect decisions about appearing publicly on the platform.

We will add individual introductions, responsibilities and photographs as appointments are confirmed and the people involved agree to share them. We want those profiles to reflect the people doing the work, rather than presenting a staff directory before it exists.

How we work together

Assignments begin with a conversation about the subject, the work involved and the time someone can realistically offer. Editorial review considers evidence, context and the treatment of the people represented in a story. Questions about a source, a conflict of interest or a possible error should be raised during that process.

Volunteer roles and responsibilities are described on the Volunteer page. The Contributors page explains how writing and publication credits are developing.

Get to know us as we grow

This page will change as the team takes shape. In the meantime, you are welcome to contact us about our editorial interests, suggest a subject or ask how your skills might fit. We are interested in the perspective you bring and the work you want to help make possible.
