Evidence and context
We distinguish reported facts, analysis, and opinion. Factual claims should be traceable to identifiable sources, with enough context for readers to assess what the evidence establishes.
Fairness and attribution
We attribute the work and claims of others, represent disagreement fairly, and avoid inventing quotations, interviews, or firsthand experience. Illustrations are presented as illustrations.
Corrections
Errors deserve prompt, visible correction. Material changes should explain what was wrong and what has changed. Readers can find the correction process on our Corrections page.
